No. 7 Greene...FINALLY!
I know you all have been reading about the construction of the restaurant in my neighborhood, No. 7 Greene. As I’ve said, I’ve been watching this place take shape with hopeful anticipation of having a really great place around the corner. Well finally…it’s open. Last night my friend Tim and I took a seat at one of the great marble-topped high tables in the bar area…and feasted on what I would call a really, really delicious meal.
I started with a special prawn appetizer and Tim had the cold roast pork, soft boiled fried egg and arugula salad. Everything was great. (oh…and they brought over some grilled bread and some delicious warm white bean spread before the apps arrived.)
Then we had the hanger steak, kimchi perogies, and pureed yellow squash and the grilled cod with New Zealand cockles and jalepeno. Everything was great. (seeing a trend?)

For dessert we were talked into the miso roated bananas, with vanilla pudding and homemade vanilla wafer cookies. Delicious.

So…No. 7 Greene…well worth the wait. The waiter was great, the decor was super (nice antique doors in the bathroom)…I already have plans to go back on Friday.
Be Good,
KCP
