Thoughts on the Red Carpet
We are just a couple of days from the biggest night in Hollywood. How exciting? I know it’s like the biggest night in terms of fashion and all eyes wil be focused on the red carpet. It’s always fun to see these lovely women done up in all their finery.
Here are some thoughts on what I think we may see on the red carpet this year. I love Cate Blanchett, to me she is like a fashion goddess. She always seems to get it right. I don’t know if she works with a stylist or not, but who ever is helping her is a genius. I am sure she will wear some beautifully made, gorgeous, perfect gown. And she always gets the make-up right. HOORAY FOR CATE! You know who else I am excited to see…that cute girl from “Juno”...Ellen Page. I’ve been saying this for a while, but I hope she wears something short to the Oscars. I would love to see her in a short dress. I think that would be so fresh and young and different. Or she should just shake up the whole thing and wear those cargo pants she wore in that movie. Now that would be genius…cargo pants and the biggest Fred Leighton jewels she can find!!! And I love, love, love the fabulous Julie Christie. She wore sort of a tailored suit to the SAG Awards and it was PERFECTION! She knows exactly what fits her body and what looks sort of elegant and perfect. She’s been around long enough to know what works and she’ll look great on Sunday.
Now…the men. Let’s see…it’s a good group this year. Some of the most wonderful guys on the planet are nominated…George Clooney, Javier Bardem, Johnny Depp, Daniel Day Lewis. Oh please…you can put a paper bag on these guys and they would look great. Right? That Javier is so darn sexy, I am sure he will look dashing and wonderful on Sunday and George always looks put together and fit. He does not really take all this red carpet stuff seriously and that helps…because the minute you over-think all of this, you’ll regret what you are wearing and not look your best.
